Updated October 19, 2026 • Independent buying guide • No hands-on testing claimed

iPhone Duo pre-orders are open in Canada. As checked on October 19, 2026, Apple still lists retail availability from October 23. The starting price is C$2,999 for 256GB. Before committing, compare storage, tax, delivery and the accessories you need. Check current configurations at Apple Canada.

Before you build a shopping cart around the launch, separate the phone purchase from the accessories you actually need. A practical starting point is protection that explicitly fits the model, a suitable charging setup and a budget that includes tax. Everything else can wait until you know how the phone fits your day.

The pre-order opening and the release date are different milestones. Opening orders does not guarantee that every configuration will ship on release day. Check the delivery estimate for your selected model and location before paying. Apple’s page provides an exact pre-order time; this guide does not assume a particular local store opening time on release day.

THE FEATURES THAT CHANGE THE DECISION

What is different—and why might you care?

These are manufacturer-listed specifications. The practical considerations below are our buying analysis; they are not performance-test results.

Apple listsWhat to think about
7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch outer displaysTry reading, typing and switching tasks in both positions. More screen space matters most if you use it regularly.
A20 Pro chip and iOS 27Check whether your everyday apps make useful use of the larger screen; specifications alone cannot establish the experience.
48MP main and ultra-wide rear camerasWait for independent sample comparisons if moving children, indoor photos or low-light video are your priorities.
256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storageLook at your current storage usage, downloaded media and how long you plan to keep the phone before paying for more capacity.
254g; 11.3mm thick when closedTest pocket fit and one-handed comfort with a case attached, especially if you prefer a light phone.
eSIM only; no physical SIM supportConfirm activation and transfer with your carrier before replacing a phone that uses a physical SIM.
Side-button Touch IDCheck whether unlocking feels natural in your usual grip.

iPhone Duo Canada prices: what does each storage upgrade cost?

Apple Canada’s ordering page checked October 19, 2026 lists the following prices. Confirm tax, delivery and the final total at checkout; these are observations, not guaranteed future offers.

Start by checking how much storage your current phone uses. For someone comfortably below 256GB, the larger tiers need a specific reason: substantial offline media, large video projects or expected growth over several years. Cloud storage also has a recurring cost; compare both options over your intended ownership period.

Work out your real bill: enter your chosen phone price in our Canadian Sales Tax Calculator, then add protection and charging equipment. Use our Deal Score Calculator when comparing an advertised discount.

Three reasons to look beyond the folding screen

1. A workspace for two tasks

Apple describes side-by-side apps with Split View. That could help when comparing a booking with a message or reading a document while taking notes. Check your own apps before assuming every workflow will benefit.

2. More flexible photos and calls

The outer screen can show your subject a camera preview. Apple also describes Kid Cue animations to draw children’s attention and hands-free calling positions. These are manufacturer-described features; we have not tested their results.

3. A different ownership decision

Ask about screen repairs, accidental-damage coverage, case fit and return terms. At this price, the decision should include what happens after a drop, as well as how impressive the phone looks on day one.

Is this the right upgrade for you?

Apple describes iPhone Duo as a foldable iPhone. That makes the choice about more than moving from an older model to a newer one. Think about whether a larger unfolded workspace would help with the tasks you repeat: reading documents, following instructions while messaging, or viewing content away from a desk. Explore Apple’s description.

Our buying advice is to write down two or three reasons your current phone is holding you back. If those reasons are storage, battery condition or a damaged screen, compare the cost of addressing them with the full cost of upgrading. If the appeal is the new form factor itself, an in-store demonstration can help you decide whether its size and handling suit you.

We have not tested iPhone Duo or the accessories below. This shortlist uses the linked Apple product information and practical buying considerations, rather than a hands-on ranking.

Worth a closer look if…

  • You often read documents or compare information while away from a laptop.
  • You want to try a larger workspace without carrying a second device.
  • You can explain which daily task the foldable design would improve.

Give yourself permission to wait

  • Your current phone still handles the jobs you need.
  • You want independent evidence about battery life, app behaviour and long-term hinge wear.
  • The phone, protection and tax would stretch your budget.

Try this in store: open a long web page, type a message, take a photo and put the closed phone in your pocket. Your own repeatable tasks will tell you more about fit than watching a promotional video.

Before buying a charger or cable

Check the box first. Apple lists a 1-metre USB-C charging cable with the phone. A second cable is an optional convenience, not an automatic day-one requirement.

Apple’s wired fast-charge claim uses a 60W-capable adapter or higher. Its MagSafe fast-charge claim uses a 35W adapter or higher plus the MagSafe Charger. Those are setup requirements for Apple’s advertised tests—not a promise of the same speed in every situation.

The 20W adapter below is a basic option to assess; it does not meet that fastest wired-charge setup. With a dual-port adapter, check the power available when both ports are occupied. A cable’s wattage rating also does not establish its data-transfer speed.

Five accessories worth comparing

You do not need all five. Pick the equipment that solves a specific problem. These are options to compare, not a ranked bundle or a claim of hands-on testing.

1. Apple iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand

Apple iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand

This is a model-specific starting point for buyers who want a cover and an adjustable viewing support together. Apple lists iPhone Duo in its compatibility section and describes an integrated kickstand. View the Folio with Kickstand at Apple Canada.

Consider how often you watch or read at a table before choosing a folio. If you mostly use a phone one-handed, compare the folded bulk and access to the controls. Check the exact colour, availability and return terms on the product page.

2. Apple 60W USB-C Charge Cable, 1 metre

Apple 60W USB-C Charge Cable
Product photograph: Apple. Check the linked product page for the exact option.

Apple lists this cable as compatible with iPhone Duo. Its product information specifies USB 2 data transfer, so the 60W label should not be read as a high-speed data-transfer rating—or a promise that the phone charges at 60W. View the cable at Apple Canada.

Buy an extra cable for a particular location, such as a work bag or bedside outlet. First check what comes with the phone and whether the cables you already own meet your needs.

3. Apple MagSafe Charger, 1 metre

Apple MagSafe Charger

Apple includes iPhone Duo in the charger’s compatibility list. A charging puck can be useful when you frequently pick up and replace a phone at a desk. View the MagSafe Charger at Apple Canada.

Check the recommended power adapter and the compatibility of your chosen case as part of the same purchase. The puck’s advertised performance depends on the complete setup; a charger name alone does not tell you what speed you will get.

4. Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter

Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter
Product photograph: Apple. Check the linked product page for the exact option.

This is an adapter to compare for a straightforward wired charging setup. Read Apple’s adapter specifications and compatibility.

Do not choose it on the assumption that it delivers the fastest possible charging for the new phone. Check Apple’s current charging guidance, your cable and the equipment you already own before replacing an adapter.

5. Apple 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter

Apple 35W Dual USB-C Power Adapter
Product photograph: Apple. Check the linked product page for the exact option.

Two USB-C ports may be useful if your bag normally contains more than one device. View the dual-port adapter at Apple Canada.

Compare power distribution when both ports are occupied, rather than treating the total wattage as the output available to each device. Choose it for a real two-device charging need, and check the manufacturer’s compatibility information before purchase.

What should wait?

Hold off on cases for other iPhone models, generic foldable-screen protectors and mounts without explicit fit information. A product described as an “iPhone accessory” is not enough evidence that its dimensions, attachment or clearances suit iPhone Duo.

A power bank, car mount, earbuds or gaming controller might be useful later. Add one when it solves a specific problem and its manufacturer confirms the required compatibility. Buying every accessory category at launch can turn a planned upgrade into an unnecessarily large cart.

Build a realistic upgrade budget

Compare the whole bill, not just the monthly payment

  • Phone: use the current price for the exact storage and model from the retailer.
  • Accessories: include only what you actually need; avoid counting an included cable twice.
  • Tax and fees: estimate regional sales tax below, then check shipping and any required fees separately.
  • Carrier offers: compare upfront payment, monthly device cost, required plan changes, term length and any amount owed at the end.
  • Trade-in: keep an estimate separate until inspection and eligibility conditions are confirmed.

A lower advertised monthly amount can still mean a higher overall bill. Compare the same time period and the same ownership outcome.

PLAN YOUR UPGRADE

What will your phone cost after tax?

Check the current phone price at the retailer, add any accessories you want, then compare the estimated total for your region.

Use the same currency and tax basis for both amounts. For US purchases, enter the combined state and local rate for the delivery address. Currency labels do not convert prices.

Enter a price and choose your region to see the breakdown.

Estimate for standard taxable electronics only. Excludes shipping, duties, environmental fees, financing and trade-in adjustments. Retailer checkout determines the final amount; rounding may differ by a few cents. Canadian tax-rate source: CRA (checked September 12, 2026).

Compare the phone, protection and charging equipment as one total. Keep trade-in estimates separate until the retailer confirms the conditions. For Canadian purchases, use our Canadian Sales Tax Calculator for an estimate, then confirm the final checkout total.

If a retailer advertises a launch discount, compare the same model, storage and seller conditions. Our Deal Score Calculator can help compare a stated regular price with an offer after coupon savings and required fees. It does not establish whether the reference price is reasonable.

This guide does not promise a coupon, launch discount, free shipping or a fixed price.

Before you place an order

Confirm the exact model and storage, delivery estimate, seller, return policy and final cost. Check accessory compatibility separately. If the phone is a discretionary upgrade, give yourself room to wait for a demonstration or independent testing.

Check iPhone Duo ordering details at Apple Canada. The retailer handles checkout, payment, delivery and returns.

Questions to settle before launch

Has iPhone Duo already launched in Canada?

As of October 19, 2026, Apple Canada accepts pre-orders and lists availability from October 23. A pre-order is not a guarantee of release-day delivery. Check Apple’s current order estimate.

Can I compare the price before and after tax?

Yes. The calculator in this guide accepts a phone or bundle price and optional accessory costs. Choose whether your entered prices already include tax, then select a Canadian region or a verified custom local rate. It estimates taxes; it does not fetch a live retailer price or convert currencies.

Should I buy accessories before the phone arrives?

Start with confirmed fit and a clear need. Check return windows if you order early. Avoid generic foldable-screen protectors, cases for other models or mounts whose manufacturers do not confirm compatibility.

Which storage option is right for me?

Check your current phone’s storage settings. Consider downloaded videos, large games, photo libraries and how often you move files elsewhere. Leave room for growth, but do not pay for capacity simply because it is offered.

Are these Apple affiliate links?

The Apple links in this guide are ordinary retailer links with no DealScanOn affiliate tracking. Other pages may contain affiliate links, as explained in our disclosure. Apple handles purchases and support.

What should an independent review still establish?

Real-world battery life, camera consistency, comfort, app behaviour and durability need evidence beyond a specifications sheet. This guide helps plan a purchase; it does not claim to have tested the phone.
